Amazon has this title listed for September as reported by Paulus The Little Gnome on The Archives Schedule as we know it thread (3rd from the bottom of page 11).

I have no problem with this being Archived, but I hope that Amazon has the title wrong. I decided to start a new thread in case Amazon's title is correct. Maybe Bob G. will see it and realize how wrong this title is before its too late.

Here are my preferences:
1. Teen Titans Archives
2. Original Teen Titans Archives
3. Silver Age Teen Titans Archives
4. Groovy Teen Titans Archives
5. Dig this: It's the Teen Titans! Archives
6. Wonder Chick and the Three Squares Archives
8625. Silver Age Titans Archives

God, I hope Amazon has the listing wrong.

Considering the Wolfman-Perez volumes are New Teen Titans, that should be enough to differentiate the two series. If anything, the 60's version has a stronger claim on the "teen" aspect. The series is way more about teens than about titans. I can't wait for it to show up! (As Silver Age Teen Titans Vol. 1, of course, although simply Teen Titans would be better.)

I, too, hope "Silver Age Titans" is just a working title. Given the other books in the series, "Teen Titans Archives" is the only appropriate title. If the long-dead Barry Allen didn't get a "Silver Age" modifier, then the real Fab Four doesn't need it either.

That title must be wrong. I can't think of any reason it shouldn't be TEEN TITANS ARCHIVE.

Unfortunately, Ingram books (the main distributor for most bookstores after initial orders are placed through the publisher) has it listed as Silver Age Titans Archives as well. I accept that Ingram does make mistakes, especially when dealing far in advance, and when dealing with DC or Marvel (who tend to think of mainstream bookstores as a secondary market), but with two sources listing it this way...

I suppose its the material, not the title, that's important.

It should be either Teen Titans Archive or Teen Titans: Silver Age Archive (or some other use of the :_____ ). The point being that Teen Titans is the name of the group and when sellers shelve this they'll shelve it in the Teen Titans alphabetical order, not the Silver Age alphabetical order. Otherwise in a few years we're likely to see several unrelated titles all shelved together under the Silver Age rubric.

I'm pushing for it to be entitled: "The Babe, A Board and A Bike - The Greatest Hits of the Flips [and Miss Ponytail and those Way-Out Titans] Archive. Gear!"

This won't happen.

It is a puzzlement.
I could understand DC considering the New Teen Titans line the "main" branch of the Titans archive franchise, and calling it simply the Teen Titans Archives, but they didn't do that. They called it New Teen Titans. So the simple, original version of the title is still available to be used for the original version of the team. Why not use it that way?

I'm assuming the actual title will be "Silver Age Teen Titans" to differentiate it from the existing volume. The NTT volume, basically, says "Teen Titans" on the spine, with "The New" in teeny-tiny writing above that. This one should say "Teen Titans" in the regular writing, with "Silver Age" above it. Like they do with many of the "Golden Age" titles (Flash, GL, Spectre).

Of course, the longer title also helps avoid retailer confusion if potential customers were to ask for "the new Teen Titans Archive" and get "the New Teen Titans Archive" by mistake.

Per Bob G.

"Silver Age Teen Titans Archives Vol.1 is the proper title to this book."

Not especially, since no other series has used the "Silver Age" modifer. It would have been appropriate to slap on the Doom Patrol, the Flash, Dynamic Duo, and maybe Green Lantern (depends if Kyle had the ring yet). Since no other series uses it, it's a bit of a wonder why it's used now.

Exactly. I can see a couple of not very convincing arguments in its favor, but nothing overpowering enough to lead DC to abandon that practice.
New Teen Titans appeared with an adjective already added, so it isn't necessary to add one to Teen Titans. Whenever possible, the actual title ought to be the default position.
Not that it's very important--I'm just mildly curious.

The first half of the original "Teen Titans" series always seemed to constitute silver-age, but the latter half (1970-73) progressed beyond those commonly defined perimeters, into the tangiably post-silver era. It would strike me as rather odd to have those adventures labeled 'silver-age,' when (and if) the archives reach that point. Not to mention that revival from around 1976-77. So, I don't see it as a good precedent for the future volumes. Overall, though, it doesn't matter much to me, as I haven't even decided whether I'll get this initial volume, much less further additions. Mod teens, bah!
